Abstract
A drive mechanism for a packaging material web coiler for forming a wound-up packaging material cushion may include a coiler core and a rotatable gyrating mass coupled to the coiler core. The coiled packaging material web is coilable around the coiler core such that the coiled packaging material cushion is detachable from the coiler core. With the rotatable gyrating mass, the coiler core performs at least one complete winding of the packaging material web around the coiler core in response to a manual swing-actuation.
Claims23
A drive mechanism for a packaging material web coiler for forming a wound-up packaging material cushion, comprising:
- a coiler core including at least two coiler pins distanced from one another, the coiler core being configured:
- to coil the coiled packaging material web around the coiler core to form the coiled packaging material cushion, and such that the coiled packaging material cushion is detachable from the coiler core;
- and
- a rotatable gyrating mass coupled to the coiler core and configured to perform at least one complete winding of the packaging material web around the coiler core in response to a manual swing-actuation, the rotatable gyrating mass including a circumferential handle arranged on a circumference of the rotatable gyrating mass and configured as an annular bulge having a larger axial dimension than a remainder of the rotatable gyrating mass,
- wherein each of the at least two coiler pins being formed as a rod extending orthogonally from a support surface of the rotatable gyrating mass, each of the rods including a first end connected to the support surface and a second end opposite the first end in an axial direction, and the at least two coiler pins being eccentrically positioned on the support surface with respect to a rotary bearing axis of the rotatable gyrating mass, and
- wherein at least one of the second ends includes a movable member that is movably connected to the at least one second end.
A drive mechanism for a packaging material web coiler for forming a wound-up packaging material cushion, comprising:
- a coiler core including at least two coiler pins distanced from one another, the coiler core being configured:
- to coil the coiled packaging material web around the coiler core to form the coiled packaging material cushion, and such that the coiled packaging material cushion is detachable from the coiler core;
- and
- a rotatable gyrating mass coupled to the coiler core and including a circumferential handle arranged on a circumference of the rotatable gyrating mass, the rotatable gyrating mass being configured to, in response to a manual swing-actuation applied via the circumferential handle causing a rotational energy to be communicated to the rotatable gyrating mass, accelerate to a rotational speed of at least 0.5 s−1 and/or less than 10.0 s−1 and perform at least one complete winding of the packaging material web around the coiler core in response to a manual swing-actuation, wherein the circumferential handle is configured as an annular bulge having a larger axial dimension than a remainder of the rotatable gyrating mass,
- wherein each of the at least two coiler pins being formed as a rod extending orthogonally from a support surface of the rotatable gyrating mass, each of the rods including a first end connected to the support surface and a second end opposite the first end in an axial direction, and the at least two coiler pins being eccentrically positioned on the support surface with respect to a rotary bearing axis of the rotatable gyrating mass, and
- wherein at least one of the second ends includes a movable member that is movably connected to the at least one second end.
A drive mechanism for a packaging material web coiler for forming a wound-up packaging material cushion, comprising:
- a coiler core including at least two coiler pins distanced from one another, the coiler core being configured to coil the coiled packaging material web around the coiler core to form the coiled packaging material cushion, and such that the coiled packaging material cushion is detachable from the coiler core;
- and
- a rotatable gyrating mass rigidly coupled to the coiler core in a rotationally fixed manner, the rotatable gyrating mass being configured to perform at least one complete winding of the packaging material web around the coiler core in response to a manual swing-actuation, and the rotatable gyrating mass including a circumferential handle arranged on a circumference of the rotatable gyrating mass and configured as a ring torus having a larger axial dimension than a remainder of the rotatable gyrating mass,
- wherein each of the at least two coiler pins being formed as a rod extending orthogonally from a support surface of the rotatable gyrating mass, each of the rods including a first end connected to the support surface and a second end opposite the first end in an axial direction, and the at least two coiler pins being eccentrically positioned on the support surface with respect to a rotary bearing axis of the rotatable gyrating mass, and
- wherein at least one of the second ends includes a movable member that is movably connected to the at least one second end.
