Abstract
There is provided an intraocular lens injector for injecting an intraocular lens into an eye, including: an injector main body 5; an injection tube 7 attached to a tip part of the injector main body 5 and having a nozzle portion 7b; and an attachment member 16 having a protruding surface disposed in a state of protruding to outside from an outer circumferential surface of the nozzle portion 7b, wherein the attachment member 16 has an engaging portion 16b engaged with a sleeve portion 16a and is configured to be movable with respect to the injection tubed 7.
Claims25
An intraocular lens injector for injecting an intraocular lens into an eye, comprising:
- a hollow body having a nozzle portion configured to be inserted into an incisional wound in the eye and defining an outer circumferential surface and a distal end with a distal end opening;
- an attachment member including a sleeve portion defining an axis and a distal end and having a protruding surface at the distal end that is oriented at an oblique angle with respect to the axis and is configured to engage the outer surface of the eye when the nozzle portion is within the incisional wound;
- and
- a protrusion and hole arrangement associated with the hollow body and the attachment member that is configured such that the attachment member cannot be detached from the hollow body after the attachment member has been attached to the hollow body;
- wherein the protrusion and hole arrangement is configured such that the attachment member has an engaged state where the attachment member is fixed to the hollow body at a first location and a disengaged state where the attachment member is movable with respect to the hollow body to a second location axially offset from the first location;
- and
- wherein the protruding surface at the distal end of the attachment member is located rearward of the distal end of the nozzle portion and protrudes outwardly from the nozzle portion when the attachment member is in the engaged state.
An intraocular lens injector for injecting an intraocular lens into an eye, comprising:
- a hollow body having a main body and an injection tube, secured to the main body, with a nozzle portion configured to be inserted into an incisional wound in the eye and defining an outer circumferential surface and a distal end;
- an attachment member defining a distal end and having a soft protruding surface at the distal end configured to engage the outer surface of the eye when the nozzle portion is within the incisional wound;
- a protrusion and hole arrangement associated with attachment member and the injection tube that is configured such that the attachment member has an engaged state where the attachment member is fixed to the injection tube at a first location and a disengaged state where the attachment member is movable with respect to the injection tube to a second location axially offset from the first location.
An intraocular lens injector for injecting an intraocular lens into an eye, comprising:
- a hollow body having a main body and an insertion tube with a nozzle portion that is configured to be inserted into an incisional wound in the eye and that defines an outer circumferential surface and a distal end with a distal end opening;
- a rod configured to push an intraocular lens through the nozzle portion;
- a plunger configured to move the rod forward;
- and
- an attachment member defining a distal end and having a protruding surface at the distal end;
- wherein the respective configurations of the hollow body, the rod and the plunger are such that the hollow body, the rod and the plunger are capable of together functioning to drive the intraocular lens through the nozzle portion and into an eye in the absence of the attachment member;
- wherein the attachment member and the hollow body are respectively configured such that the attachment member is movable from a first stage where the attachment member is fixed to the hollow body to at least a second stage, which is axially offset from the first stage, where the attachment member is fixed to the hollow body;
- and
- wherein the protruding surface at the distal end of the attachment member is located rearward of the distal end of the nozzle portion and protrudes outwardly from the nozzle portion when the attachment member is in the first and second stages.
