Abstract
The present disclosure relates to multi-MAC controller and single PHY systems and methods. An example method may include transmitting, via a first device in a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) network, a first block of data within a first time slot and at a first power level. The example method may also include transmitting, via a second device in the DOCSIS network, a second block of data within the first time slot and at a second power level, the second power level being based on an attenuation of the first network tap device associated with the first device, wherein the first power level is different from the second power level.
Claims20
A system comprising:
- a first device in a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) network configured to transmit a first data payload within a first time slot and at a first power level;
- and
- a second device in the DOCSIS network configured to transmit a first bandwidth request within the first time slot and at a second power level, wherein the first power level is different from the second power level, wherein the first device or the second device is further configured to transmit a second data payload within a second time slot and at the first power level.
A method, comprising:
- transmitting, by a first device in a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) network, a first data payload within a first time slot and at a first power level;
- transmitting, by a second device in the DOCSIS network, a first bandwidth request within the first time slot and at a second power level;
- and
- transmitting, by the first device or the second device, a second data payload within a second time slot and at the first power level.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer-executable instructions, that when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform operations of:
- transmitting, by a first device in a Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification (DOCSIS) network, a first data payload within a first time slot and at a first power level;
- and
- transmitting, by a second device in the DOCSIS network, a first bandwidth request within the first time slot and at a second power level without using a distinct contention window in a different time slot;
- and
- transmitting, by the first device or the second device, a second data payload within a second time slot and at the first power level.
