Abstract
Marine pump vessels and wing fluidizer support vessels, and methods of using same. Wing fluidizer support vessels are configured to deploy a wing fluidizer including thrusters capable of fluidizing sediments from a first seabed location and moving it to a second seabed location. Pump vessels include one or more pumps deployable from a separate vessel and stowable thereon.
Claims20
A pump vessel comprising:
- a) a modular, generally rectangular hull that may be disassembled and transported on one or more trucks or shipping containers, the modular hull comprising a deck, a bow, a stern, a port side, and a starboard side;
- b) at least one submersible pump movable between stowed and deployed positions, each of the at least one submersible pumps having a discharge port;
- c) a frame configured to support the at least one submersible pump between the stowed and deployed positions;
- d) a winch configured to move the frame between stowed and deployed positions;
- e) a deck-mounted rack configured to hold lengths of flexible hose;
- f) a deck-mounted crane configured to add and/or remove the lengths of flexible hose from the deck-mounted rack;
- and
- g) the lengths of flexible hose configured to be connected end to end between the submersible pump discharge port and an articulating discharge pipe comprising nonflexible sections.

A method comprising:
- a) providing a modular, generally rectangular hull that may be disassembled and transported on one or more trucks or shipping containers, the modular hull comprising a deck, a bow, a stern, a port side, and a starboard side;
- b) moving at least one submersible pump between stowed and deployed positions, each of the at least one submersible pump having a discharge port;
- c) supporting the at least one submersible pump between the stowed and deployed positions using respectively one or more frames;
- d) containing lengths of flexible hose in a deck-mounted rack;
- e) removing the lengths of flexible hose from the deck-mounted rack using a deck-mounted crane;
- and
- f) connecting the lengths of flexible hose end to end between the submersible pump discharge port and an articulating discharge pipe comprised of nonflexible sections, the discharge pipe configured to discharge into a separate vessel or into a floating pipeline.
