Abstract
Described are porous, sintered metal bodies that include multiple layers made from different metal particles and that may be useful as porous filter membranes, as well as methods of making and using the porous, sintered metal bodies.
Claims19
A tubular porous membrane comprising:
- a first layer comprising sintered metal particles;
- a second layer comprising a combination of sintered metal particles comprising coarse metal particles having a particle size of at least 1 micron, metal fiber particles, and fine metal particles having a particle size below 200 nanometers;
- and
- the membrane has a hoop stress at burst that is at least 30,000 psi.
