Abstract
Described are nucleic acid regulatory elements that are able to enhance liver-specific expression of genes, methods employing these regulatory elements and uses of these elements. Expression cassettes and vectors containing these nucleic acid regulatory elements are also disclosed. These are particularly useful for applications using gene therapy.
Claims17
A method of introducing a nucleic acid into a subject, the method comprising administering to the subject a polynucleotide comprising a nucleic acid regulatory element of 90 nucleotides or less operatively linked to a heterologous coding sequence,
- wherein the regulatory element enhances liver-specific expression of the heterologous coding sequence as compared to expression of the heterologous coding sequence in the absence of the regulatory element, and
- wherein the regulator element comprises SEQ ID NO:
- 3, or a sequence having at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO:
- 3.
