Abstract
The present invention relates to assemblies and method for obtaining a container comprising 212Pb on the walls obtained from a 212Pb precursor isotope source. The invention provides an improved system and method for producing 212Pb in high purity without the need for processing, with high yields, and which safely and efficiently can be transported to the locations where it is to be used.
Claims19
A system for generating radioisotopes comprising:
- a precursor radioisotope source comprising:
- a ceramic material;
- and
- a parent radioisotope bound to the ceramic material;
- and
- a chamber including an inner surface, wherein the chamber is configured to house the precursor radioisotope source such that a decay of the parent radioisotope emanates a gaseous radioisotope into the chamber and deposits one or more progeny radioisotopes on the inner surface due to the decay of the gaseous radioisotope.
3 more elements
A precursor radioisotope source comprising:
- a ceramic material;
- and
- a parent radioisotope in an amount sufficient to generate a medical dose of one or more progeny radioisotopes due to a decay from the parent radioisotope via a gaseous radioisotope, wherein the parent radioisotope is bound to the ceramic material, wherein the parent radioisotope is configured to emanate the gaseous radioisotope from the ceramic material.
