Abstract
A method, apparatus, and computer program for controlling allocation of control message fields in uplink transmission in a cellular telecommunication system are presented. Uplink control message fields are allocated to the resources of a physical uplink shared traffic channel according to an uplink transmission scheme selected for a user terminal. The control message fields are allocated so that transmission performance of the control messages is optimized for the selected uplink transmission scheme.
Claims23
An apparatus comprising:
- a transmitter configured to transmit control information to a user terminal;
- and
- a receiver configured to receive, from the user terminal, a first control message field in a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), the first control message field having a first number of coded symbols based on a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) offset;
- wherein the first number of coded symbols is a function of at least:
- the first MCS offset, the number of bits of the first control message field, and the number of sub-carriers carrying the PUSCH;
- and
- further wherein the first number of coded symbols is directly proportional to the number of sub-carriers carrying the PUSCH.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions thereon that, when executed, causes at least one processor of one or more processors to:
- transmit control information to a user terminal;
- and
- receive, from the user terminal, a first control message field in a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH), the first control message field having a first number of coded symbols based on a first modulation and coding scheme (MCS) offset;
- wherein the first number of coded symbols is a function of at least:
- the first MCS offset, the number of bits of the first control message field, and the number of sub-carriers carrying the PUSCH;
- and
- further wherein the first number of coded symbols is directly proportional to the number of sub-carriers carrying the PUSCH.
