Air conditioner

An air conditioner comprising:

• a housing including:
• a suction port to suck air from a space adjacent to the housing into the housing, and
• a discharge port through which the suctioned air is discharged;
• a heat exchanger to exchange heat with the suctioned air through the suction port;
• a fan to allow the air to be suctioned through the suction port or to allow the suctioned air to be discharged through the discharge port;
• and
• a guide panel coupled to the housing and configured to be movable forward and backward between:
• a first position in which the guide panel is withdrawn to the housing without covering the suction port, and
• a second position in which the guide panel is moved linearly away from the housing at the suction port so as to prevent an object from covering the suction port.
