Structural component of a modular system and assembly unit for use in storage or transportation systems

A structural component, wherein:

• the structural component is plate-shaped or shell-shaped and comprises at least three sides, wherein at least two sides are provided with a coupling unit for structurally connecting the structural component to a further component, wherein the coupling unit comprises at least one first locking element and at least one correspondingly designed second locking element;
• and
• for connecting the structural component to the further component, the first locking element and the second locking element are displaceable relative to one another from a release position into a first locking position upon moving the first locking element or the second locking element in a first locking direction and are displaceable relative to one another from the release position into a second locking position upon moving the first locking element or the second locking element in a second locking direction different from the first locking direction, wherein:
• in the release position, the structural component and the further component can be translated with respect to one another such that the structural component and the further component can be engaged or disengaged with one another;
• in the first locking position, the structural component and the further component cannot be translated with respect to one another such that the structural component and the further component cannot be disengaged from one another;
• in the second locking position, the structural component and the further component cannot be translated with respect to one another such that the structural component and the further component cannot be disengaged from one another;
• and
• the second locking position is different from the first locking position.
