Abstract
A system for stabilizing a hydrocarbon feedstock includes a High Pressure Separation (HPS) unit in fluid communication with a feedstock inlet. The HPS unit includes an oil outlet. A Heated Low Pressure (LP) Separator unit is downstream from the oil outlet of the HPS unit. The Heated LP Separator unit includes an oil outlet.
Claims16
A system for stabilizing a hydrocarbon feedstock, the system comprising:
- a feedstock inlet and a stabilized oil outlet;
- and
- a separation system between feedstock inlet and the stabilized oil outlet, comprising:
- a first separation stage including a High Pressure Separation (HPS) unit in fluid communication with the feedstock inlet configured to separate a well oil feedstock into a gas stream, an un-stabilized oil stream and a water stream, wherein the HPS unit includes an un-stabilized oil outlet;
- and
- a second separation stage including a Heated Low Pressure (LP) Separator unit downstream from and in fluid communication with the un-stabilized oil outlet of the HPS unit configured to remove lighter hydrocarbons from the un-stabilized oil from the HPS unit by separating the un-stabilized oil into a hydrocarbon vapor stream, a water stream, and a stabilized oil stream, wherein the Heated LP Separator unit includes an oil outlet, wherein the oil outlet is the stabilized oil outlet,
- wherein the first separation stage and the second separation stage are the only separation stages in the system between the feedstock inlet and the stabilized oil outlet wherein the oil outlet of the Heated LP separator unit is configured to discharge stabilized oil having a Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) of less than 10 psi.
A system for stabilizing a hydrocarbon feedstock, the system comprising:
- a first separation stage including a High Pressure Separation (HPS) unit, wherein the HPS unit comprises a feedstock inlet and an un-stabilized oil outlet;
- a second separation stage including a Heated Low Pressure (LP) Separator unit downstream from and in fluid communication with HPS unit, wherein the Heated LP Separator unit comprises an un-stabilized oil inlet and a stabilized oil outlet;
- and
- a heat input disposed between the un-stabilized oil inlet and the stabilized oil outlet of the Heated LP Separator unit wherein the oil outlet of the Heated LP separator unit is configured to discharge stabilized oil having a Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) of less than 10 psi.
A system for stabilizing a hydrocarbon feedstock and separating the hydrocarbon feedstock into a gas product, a water product, and a stabilized oil product, the system comprising only two separation units including:
- a High Pressure Separation (HPS) unit in fluid communication with a hydrocarbon feedstock inlet, wherein the HPS unit includes an un-stabilized oil outlet;
- and
- a Heated Low Pressure (LP) Separator unit downstream from and in fluid communication with the un-stabilized oil outlet of the HPS unit, wherein the Heated LP Separator unit includes a stabilized oil outlet wherein the oil outlet of the Heated LP separator unit is configured to discharge stabilized oil having a Reid Vapor Pressure (RVP) of less than 10 psi.
