A control method for an information processing apparatus, the control method comprising:

• receiving information indicating that an event has occurred in a device;
• identifying a first user and a second user that should each receive, based on a type of the event, a notification of the event;
• obtaining a status of the first user that should receive, based on the type of the event, the notification of the event;
• obtaining a status of the second user that should receive, based on the type of the received event, the notification of the event;
• and
• transmitting, in a first case where the obtained status of the first user that should receive the notification of a first event is a first status and the obtained status of the second user that should receive the notification of the first event is a second status different from the first status, the notification of the first event to the first user without transmitting the notification of the first event to the second user, and transmitting, in a second case where the obtained status of the first user that should receive the notification of a second event is the first status and the obtained status of the second user that should receive the notification of the second event is the second status different from the first status, the notification of the second event to the first user and to the second user.

An information processing system comprising:

• a memory storing computer-readable instructions;
• and
• a processor configured to execute the computer-readable instructions stored in the memory to cause the information processing system to:
• receive information indicating that an event has occurred in a device;
• identify a first user and a second user that should each receive, based on a type of the event, a notification of the event;
• obtain a status of the first user that should receive, based on the type of the event, the notification of the event;
• obtain a status of the second user that should receive, based on the type of the received event, the notification of the event;
• and
• transmit, in a first case where the obtained status of the first user that should receive the notification of a first event is a first status and the obtained status of the second user that should receive the notification of the first event is a second status different from the first status, the notification of the first event to the first user without transmitting the notification of the first event to the second user, and transmit, in a second case where the obtained status of the first user that should receive the notification of a second event is the first status and the obtained status of the second user that should receive the notification of the second event is the second status different from the first status, the notification of the second event to the first user and to the second user.
