Assembly manufacturing equipment and method for electrode assembly

An electrode assembly manufacturing apparatus for fabricating a stack comprising a first electrode, a second electrode, and a section of a separator between the first and the second electrodes, the apparatus comprising:

• a stack table configured for supporting the stack;
• a separator supply unit configured for supplying portions of a separator to the stack table;
• a first electrode supply unit configured for stacking the first electrode on the separator supported by the stack table;
• a second electrode supply unit configured for stacking the second electrode on the separator supported by the stack table;
• and
• a side sealing device for heating at least one side surface of the stack to bond either a portion of the separator separate from the section of the separator or a separate separator covering the side surface of the stack to the side surface of the stack.
