Vibrotactile control systems and methods

A wearable device, comprising:

• a plurality of vibratory motors comprising:
• a first motor configured to be disposed at a first location of a user's body;
• and
• a second motor configured to be disposed at a second location of the user's body;
• and
• a signal processor communicatively coupled to the plurality of vibratory motors, the signal processor configured to:
• receive an input signal;
• and
• based at least in part on the input signal, and according to a predefined mapping of the input signal to the plurality of vibratory motors, generate a plurality of electrical driving signals.

A method, comprising:

• disposing a plurality of wearable vibratory motors about a user such that:
• a first motor is disposed at a first location of the user's body;
• and
• a second motor is disposed at a second location of the user's body;
• receiving, at a signal processor, one or more input signals;
• generating, via the signal processor, a plurality of electrical driving signals for the plurality of vibratory motors in real time and according to a predefined mapping from the one or more input signals to the plurality of vibratory motors;
• and
• providing the electrical driving signals to the plurality of wearable vibratory motors such that the first motor vibrates against the first location of the user's body and the second motor vibrates against the second location of the user's body.
