Polyalkylene glycol compound

A lubricating oil composition comprising:

• a polyalkylene glycol-based compound represented by formula (1):
• and
• at least one additive selected from an antioxidant, an oiliness improver, an oxygen scavenger, an extreme pressure agent, a copper deactivator, a rust inhibitor, an anti-foaming agent, and a viscosity index improver;
• wherein
• R1 represents a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 32 carbon atoms, a monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 42 ring carbon atoms, a monovalent acyl group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms, or a monovalent oxygen-containing hydrocarbon group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms;
• R2 represents a monovalent aliphatic hydrocarbon group having 1 to 32 carbon atoms, a monovalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having 6 to 42 ring carbon atoms, a monovalent acyl group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms, a monovalent oxygen-containing hydrocarbon group having 2 to 32 carbon atoms, or a hydrogen atom;
• R3 represents a divalent hydrocarbon group having 4 carbon atoms;
• R4 represents a divalent hydrocarbon group having 2 or 3 carbon atoms;
• m represents a number of 1 to 40;
• n represents a number of 0 to 20;
• and
• m/(m+n)≥0.6,
• and wherein
• a volume resistivity of the polyalkylene glycol-based compound represented by formula (1) at 25° C. is 0.0050 TΩ·m or more, and
• a 40° C. kinematic viscosity of the polyalkylene glycol-based compound represented by formula (1) is 30 to 400 mm2/s.
