Abstract
An electrically operated slicing machine cuts slices from material to be cut. The slicing machine has a slicing device, which includes an electric blade motor; a circular blade rotatably driven by the electric blade motor; and a carriage that is moved parallel to the circular blade to receive and move the material to be cut. A blade monitor monitors a condition of the circular blade. The blade monitor has a current measuring device that measures a blade motor current of the electric blade motor. A grinding monitor monitors a grinding process executed by a blade grinder.
Claims20
An electrically operated slicing machine, the slicing machine comprising:
- a circular blade configured to be rotatably driven by an electric blade motor;
- a carriage movable in parallel to the circular blade and configured to receive and move material to be cut by the circular blade during a cutting operation;
- and
- a controller, the controller being configured to execute a method for monitoring the electrically operated slicing machine, the method comprising:
- executing a blade grinding program, the blade grinding program being different from the cutting operation, the blade grinding program comprising:
- detecting, as measurement data from the electric blade motor during a grinding of the circular blade with a grinder, a blade motor current and a chronological sequence of the blade motor current;
- and
- monitoring and controlling the grinding of the circular saw blade with the grinder during the blade grinding program based on the measurement data detected during grinding of the circular saw blade with the blade grinder;
- detecting, monitoring, or controlling a deburring process of the circular blade based on detecting a further measurement of the blade motor current and a further chronological sequence of the blade motor current, the detecting of the further measurement of the blade motor current and the further chronological sequence of the blade motor current occurring subsequent to the detecting of the measurement data during the grinding of the circular blade with the grinder,
- wherein the detecting, monitoring, or controlling the deburring process of the circular blade comprises detecting the deburring process has occurred based on detecting, from the further measurement of the blade motor current and the further chronological sequence of the blade motor current, a short-term power consumption drop and then a subsequent short-term power consumption increase, the short-term power consumption drop corresponding to switching to a sharpening stone, and the subsequent short-term power consumption increase corresponding to deburring the circular blade.

- a circular blade configured to be rotatably driven by an electric blade motor;
- and a carriage movable in parallel to the circular blade and configured to receive and move material to be cut by the circular blade during a cutting operation, the method comprising:
- executing a blade grinding program, the blade grinding program being different from the cutting operation, the blade grinding program comprising:
- detecting, as measurement data from the electric blade motor during a grinding of the circular blade with a grinder, a blade motor current and a chronological sequence of the blade motor current;
- and
- monitoring and controlling the grinding of the circular blade with the grinder during the blade grinding program based on the measurement data detected during the grinding of the circular blade with the grinder;
- and
- detecting, monitoring, or controlling a deburring process of the circular blade based on detecting a further measurement of the blade motor current and a further chronological sequence of the blade motor current, the detecting of the further measurement of the blade motor current and the further chronological sequence of the blade motor current occurring subsequent to the detecting of the measurement data during the grinding of the circular blade with the grinder,
- wherein the detecting, monitoring, or controlling the deburring process of the circular blade comprises detecting the deburring process has occurred based on detecting, from the further measurement of the blade motor current and the further chronological sequence of the blade motor current, a short-term power consumption drop and then a subsequent short-term power consumption increase, the short-term power consumption drop corresponding to switching to a sharpening stone, and the subsequent short-term power consumption increase corresponding to deburring the circular blade.
