Abstract
The present invention relates to a cutter system for an electric shaver and/or trimmer, comprising a pair of comb-like cutting elements each with at least one row of cutting teeth and movable relative to each other, wherein at least one row of cooperating cutting teeth define a convex or concave skin contact surface when viewed in a cross-sectional plane parallel to a reciprocating direction of the cutting teeth and perpendicular to said skin contact surface.
Claims20
A cutter system for an electric shaver and/or a trimmer, comprising a pair of comb-like cutting elements comprising a movable cutting element and a stationary cutting element;
- the movable cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the movable cutting element;
- the stationary cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the stationary cutting element;
- wherein the stationary cutting element has thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips overhanging tooth tips of the movable cutting element and the overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of the stationary cutting element include overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of different aggressiveness, such that tooth tips of the stationary cutting element having a higher level of aggressiveness have a smaller diameter of rounded tooth tips, less thickened tooth tips or less curvature away from a skin contact surface than tooth tips of the stationary cutting element with a lower level of aggressiveness, wherein at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element defines the skin contact surface having a convex or concave contour when viewed in a cross-sectional plane (i) parallel to a reciprocating direction of the cutting teeth of the movable cutting element, and (ii) perpendicular to a length direction of at least one tooth of the at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element.
An electric shaver and/or a trimmer comprising a cutter head, a longitudinal handle, and a cutter system comprising a pair of comb-like cutting elements comprising a movable cutting element and a stationary cutting element;
- the movable cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the movable cutting element;
- the stationary cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the stationary cutting element;
- wherein the stationary cutting element has thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips overhanging tooth tips of the movable cutting element and the overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of the stationary cutting element include overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of different aggressiveness, wherein at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element defines a convex or concave skin contact surface when viewed in a cross-sectional plane (i) parallel to a reciprocating direction of the cutting teeth of the movable cutting element, and (ii) perpendicular to a length direction of at least one tooth of the at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element, wherein said two rows of the cutting teeth of said stationary cutting element are arranged at opposite sides of the cutter head which defines a cutter head skin contact surface and is attached to the longitudinal handle at an end thereof, wherein said cutter head skin contact surface is inclined at an acute angle to slope down towards a front side of the longitudinal handle and to ascend towards a back side of the longitudinal handle, wherein one row of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element at the sloped down front side has a more aggressive tooth tip configuration comprising tooth tips with a smaller diameter and/or a smaller height and/or positioned closer to the cutter head skin contact surface, than the other row of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element at the ascending back side of the cutter head.
A cutter system for an electric shaver and/or a trimmer, comprising a pair of comb-like cutting elements comprising a movable cutting element and a stationary cutting element;
- the movable cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the movable cutting element;
- the stationary cutting element having two rows of cutting teeth arranged on opposite longitudinal sides of the stationary cutting element;
- wherein the stationary cutting element has thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips overhanging tooth tips of the movable cutting element and the overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of the stationary cutting element include overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips of different aggressiveness, wherein at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element defines a convex or concave skin contact surface when viewed in a cross-sectional plane (i) parallel to a reciprocating direction of the cutting teeth of the movable cutting element, and (ii) perpendicular to a length direction of at least one tooth of the at least one of the two rows of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element, wherein said overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips are provided with a two-step rounding including a spherical or drop-shaped or pearl-shaped thickening and a bent tooth portion connecting said thickening to a main tooth portion and bent away from the convex or concave skin contact surface of said main tooth portion, wherein a concave depression is formed in a transitional section between said thickening and said bent tooth portion on the convex or concave skin contact surface of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element, wherein the cutting teeth of said stationary cutting element have a tooth height including the overhanging, thickened and/or rounded and/or curved tooth tips ranging from 250-550 μm and define a gap between neighboring cutting teeth, the gap having a gap width ranging from 200-500 μm, said gap width being measured at the middle of the length of the cutting teeth of the stationary cutting element.
