Methods of making a wide metal sheet

A method of preparing a metal sheet, the method comprising:

• extruding a component along an extrusion axis, the component having a wall at least partially defining an interior region, and the component comprising a metal;
• cutting the wall substantially parallel to the extrusion axis, the wall defining a cross-section substantially perpendicular to the extrusion axis, the cross-section forming a closed curve prior to the cutting, the cutting being performed with a tool comprising a body defining a tool axis and a blade extending from the body, the cutting comprising moving at least one of the tool and the component with respect to one another such the body is at least partially in the interior region and the blade cuts through the wall;
• after the cutting, unfurling the wall to form a sheet precursor having a first thickness and a first transverse dimension;
• and
• rolling the sheet precursor along a rolling axis with a plurality of pairs of rollers to form the metal sheet, the metal sheet having a second thickness perpendicular to the rolling axis, the second thickness less than the first thickness, and a second transverse dimension parallel to the rolling axis, the second
• transverse dimension greater than the first transverse dimension.
