Systems and methods for managing assets

A system for managing a plurality of assets, comprising:

• a control system, comprising a processor, a memory and software, and wherein said control system is configured to:
• create a first unique asset identifier of an asset;
• receive other asset information, wherein the other asset information is information about the asset other than the first asset identifier;
• provide an authentication and/or authorization protocol implementing two-factor authentication including at least two layers of control system implemented security, at least one of said layers being implemented through an auxiliary computer unit, over a secure network, as a precondition to recording;
• record, when said precondition is satisfied, said data into said memory, wherein said data includes and/or reflects at least some of the first asset identifier and/or the asset information;
• and
• deconflict pre-existing data changes from new data changes, created after said pre-existing data changes, based on determining whether the pre-existing data changes differ from the new data changes due to a presentation issue or and determining whether the pre-existing data changes differ from the new data changes due to an authority issue.
