Abstract
Disclosed are digitized organoids comprising a detectable sensor, such as, for example, a Radio frequency identification (RFID) based sensor. Further disclosed are methods for making the digitized organoids. The disclosed methods allow for self-assembly mediated incorporation of ultracompact RFID sensors into organoids. Methods of using the digitized organoids are also disclosed.
Claims14
A method of making an RFID integrated organoid, comprising:
- seeding a plurality of definitive endoderm cells provided as single cells derived from a first spheroid;
- after seeding the cells, contacting the plurality of definitive endoderm cells provided as single cells derived from the first spheroid with a micro-RFID chip in a differentiation medium for a period of time sufficient to allow co-aggregation of said definitive endoderm cells and said micro-RFID chip;
- incubating the definitive endoderm cells and micro-RFID chip with a culture favorable to forming a second spheroid, wherein the second spheroid comprises the micro-RFID chip;
- and
- culturing the second spheroid to produce the RFID integrated organoid;
- wherein the RFID integrated organoid comprises a lumen and the micro-RFID chip is localized in the lumen.
