Abstract
A vehicle system includes: at least one of: a sensor configured to measure an amount of a chemical in air within a passenger cabin of a vehicle; and a camera configured to capture images within the passenger cabin of the vehicle; and a control module configured to: detect smoking within the passenger cabin based on the at least one of the amount of the chemical and at least one of the images; and in response to smoking being detected within the passenger cabin, adjust operation of at least one of a luxury feature of the vehicle and a comfort feature of the vehicle.
Claims17
A vehicle system, comprising:
- a sensor configured to measure an amount of a chemical in air within a passenger cabin of a vehicle;
- a camera configured to capture images within the passenger cabin of the vehicle;
- an object detection module configured to detect one of a lighter, a smoking pipe, a smoking tank, a smoking bong, and a hookah in at least one of one of the images using an object detection algorithm;
- and
- a control module configured to:
- detect smoking within the passenger cabin in response to the amount of the chemical being greater than a predetermined value and the object detection module detecting the at least one of the lighter, smoking pipe, smoking tank, smoking bong, and hookah in the at least one of the images;
- and
- in response to smoking being detected within the passenger cabin, output a notification to stop smoking and, after outputting the notification, adjust operation of at least one of a luxury feature of the vehicle and a comfort feature of the vehicle,
- wherein the control module is configured to, after outputting the notification in response to smoking being detected within the passenger cabin, adjust operation of a seat massager of a seat within the passenger cabin including increasing at least one of a rate, magnitude, and pattern of the seat massager thereby increasing discomfort of the massaging.
A method, comprising:
- measuring an amount of a chemical in air within a passenger cabin of a vehicle;
- capturing images within the passenger cabin of the vehicle;
- detecting at least one of a lighter, a smoking pipe, a smoking tank, a smoking bong, and a hookah in at least one of one of the images using an object detection algorithm;
- detecting smoking within the passenger cabin in response to the amount of the chemical being greater than a predetermined value and detecting the at least one of the lighter, smoking pipe, smoking tank, smoking bong, and hookah in the at least one of the images;
- and
- in response to smoking being detected within the passenger cabin, outputting a notification to stop smoking and, after outputting the notification, adjusting operation of at least one of a luxury feature of the vehicle and a comfort feature of the vehicle,
- wherein the adjusting includes, in response to smoking being detected within the passenger cabin, after outputting the notification, adjusting operation of a seat massager of a seat within the passenger cabin including increasing at least one of a rate, magnitude, and pattern of the seat massager thereby increasing discomfort of the massaging.
