Abstract
The present invention is directed to multi-layered wound dressings having a carrier layer, at least two sublayers, wherein each sublayer contains at least one reactive, cross-linkable component and the at least two reactive, cross-linkable components are co-reactive with the other and at least one reactive, cross-linkable has a protective leaving group and a buffering salt agent.
Claims4
A multi-layered wound dressing consisting of:
- a. a bi-layer carrier substrate consisting of a layer of oxidized cellulose joined to a layer of fibers composed of a copolymer made from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide;
- b. a coating consisting of stacked spray-coated layers of
- a layer of alkaline buffer immediately on the carrier substrate,
- a layer of PEG-N-hydroxysuccinimide, and
- a layer of protected PEG-amine end-capped with a plurality of hydrohalide protective leaving groups between the layer of alkaline buffer and the layer of PEG-N-hydroxysuccinimide,
- wherein the alkaline buffer is disodium tetraborate, bis-tris methane (Bis-Tris), or 2-(N-morpholino) ethanesulfonic acid (MES).
