Radio performance fingerprint based sensor management

A method including:

• at a first sensor, broadcasting one or more beacons;
• at a second sensor, the first sensor, the second sensor, or both being associated with the zone:
• attempting to receive the one or more beacons;
• and
• generating a reception indication of a received portion of the one or more beacons;
• at diagnostic circuitry in data communication with the group of zone sensors:
• generating, based on the reception indication, a current zone-specific radio signal fingerprint (ZRSF) for the zone;
• and
• applying the current ZRSF to an input for a performance classification routine to compare the current ZRSF to a previous ZRSF for the zone;
• determining, via an output of the performance classification routine, that a current performance classification corresponding to the current ZRSF differs from a previous classification for the zone, the previous classification based at least in part on the previous ZRSF for the zone;
• and
• generating, responsive to determining that the current performance classification differs from the previous classification, a performance change indication for the zone.

Non-transitory machine-readable media configured to store instructions, the instructions configured to, when executed, cause a machine to:

• at a first sensor, broadcast one or more beacons;
• at a second sensor, the first sensor, the second sensor, or both being associated with a zone:
• attempt to receive the one or more beacons;
• and
• generate a reception indication of a received portion of the one or more beacons;
• at diagnostic circuitry in data communication with the group of zone sensors:
• generate a current zone-specific radio signal fingerprint (ZRSF) for the zone;
• and
• apply the current ZRSF to an input for a performance classification routine to compare the current ZRSF to a previous ZRSF for the zone;
• determine, via an output of the performance classification routine, that a current performance classification corresponding to the current ZRSF differs from a previous classification for the zone, the previous classification based at least in part on the previous ZRSF for the zone;
• and
• generate, responsive to determining that the current performance classification differs from the previous classification, a performance change indication for the zone.
