Method, apparatus and computer program product for vehicle feature emulation

A computer program product comprising at least one non-transitory computer-readable storage medium having computer-executable program code instructions stored therein, the computer-executable program code instructions comprising program code instructions to:

• receive an indication of a user operating a vehicle determined to be an unfamiliar vehicle;
• determine vehicle features familiar to the user;
• provide emulation of one or more features of the vehicle features familiar to the user in the unfamiliar vehicle including emulation of a vehicle size familiar to the user in the unfamiliar vehicle by adjusting proximity alerts in the unfamiliar vehicle based on the vehicle size familiar to the user;
• and
• phase out the emulation of the one or more features of the vehicle features familiar to the user in the unfamiliar vehicle based on at least one of an elapsed time of the emulation or a distance traveled with the emulation.

A method comprising:

• receiving an indication of a user operating a vehicle determined to be an unfamiliar vehicle;
• determining vehicle features familiar to the user;
• and
• providing emulation of one or more features of the vehicle features familiar to the user in the unfamiliar vehicle including emulation of a vehicle size familiar to the user in the unfamiliar vehicle by adjusting proximity alerts in the unfamiliar vehicle based on the vehicle size familiar to the user.
