Abstract
A front independent suspension assembly for outdoor power equipment includes a first joint, a first wheel coupled to the joint, a first longitudinal arm pivotably coupled to the joint, a first lateral arm pivotably coupled to the joint, and a second lateral arm pivotably coupled to the joint. The second lateral suspension arranged substantially parallel to the first lateral suspension arm. The pivotal coupling between the joint and each of the first longitudinal arm, the first lateral arm, and the second lateral arm enables the first wheel to independently displace about a vertical axis.

A front independent suspension assembly for outdoor power equipment, the front independent suspension assembly comprising:
- a first joint;
- a first caster wheel coupled to the first joint, wherein the first joint is arranged above the first caster wheel;
- a first longitudinal arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- a first lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- and
- a second lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint, wherein the second lateral arm is arranged substantially parallel to the first lateral arm, and wherein the pivotal coupling between the first joint and each of the first longitudinal arm, the first lateral arm, and the second lateral arm enables the first caster wheel to independently displace about a vertical axis.
A front independent suspension assembly for outdoor power equipment, the front independent suspension assembly comprising:
- a first caster wheel assembly including a first caster wheel and a first joint arranged above the first caster wheel;
- a first longitudinal arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- a first lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- and
- a second lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint, wherein the pivotal coupling between the first joint and each of the first longitudinal arm, the first lateral arm, and the second lateral arm enables the first caster wheel assembly to independently displace about a vertical axis.
A lawn mower, comprising:
- a cutting deck;
- a first caster wheel assembly including a first caster wheel and a first joint arranged above the first caster wheel;
- and
- a front independent suspension assembly including:
- a first longitudinal arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- a first lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint;
- and
- a second lateral arm pivotably coupled to the first joint, wherein the pivotal coupling between the first joint and each of the first longitudinal arm, the first lateral arm, and the second lateral arm enables the first caster wheel assembly to independently displace about a vertical axis.
