Cutting tool

A cutting tool comprising:

• a cemented carbide substrate, wherein the cemented carbide consists of hard constituents in a metallic binder, the hard constituents including WC, the WC content in the cemented carbide being 80-93 wt %, wherein the cemented carbide comprises Ni and Al, the cemented carbide having a Ni content of 3-13 wt %, a weight ratio of Co/Ni<0.33, a weight ratio of Fe/Ni <0.25, a weight ratio of Cr/Ni<0.25 and a weight ratio of 0.02<Al/(Ni+Co+Fe)<0.1;
• and
• a rake face, a flank face and a cutting edge there between, wherein a crack resistance W is defined as
• W=P/4ā
• wherein P is a load 100*9.81 N of a Vickers hardness indentation and a is an average crack length of each crack formed at corners of the Vickers hardness indentation, and wherein a product of the hardness H (rake) at the rake face and the crack resistance at the rake face is H(rake)*W(rake)>5000 HV100*N/μm.
