An aircraft modification system for an aircraft, the aircraft having an aircraft fuselage, aircraft flight control surfaces, and aircraft subsystems comprising one or more aircraft fuel systems, and an aircraft flight control system (FCS), the aircraft being characterized by an aircraft center-of-gravity (CG), the aircraft modification system comprising:
- an aerial refueling system (ARS);
- an ARS fuel management subsystem operatively integrated with the ARS;
- an ARS carriage assembly secured inside the aircraft fuselage and configured to support and secure the ARS when the ARS is installed within the ARS carriage assembly;
- a fuselage subsystem secured to the aircraft fuselage and configured to support and secure the ARS carriage assembly when the ARS carriage assembly is installed within the fuselage subsystem;
- a center-of-gravity (CG) subsystem configured to control movement of fuel between and to and from a plurality of fuel tanks to manage and control the aircraft CG;
- a refueling system(s) manager
- operatively integrated with and configured to manage
- the one or more aircraft fuel systems,
- the ARS,
- the ARS fuel management subsystem,
- the aircraft FCS, and
- the CG subsystem,
- to manage and control the aircraft CG;
- and
- interface subsystems comprising
- one or more support structures configured to provide structural support or reinforcement for, and between, the aircraft fuselage, the fuselage subsystem, the ARS carriage assembly, the ARS, and the refueling system(s) manager, the one or more support structures comprising one or more adjustable structures, and
- one or more operative interconnection systems configured to operatively interface the aircraft, the aircraft subsystems, the fuselage subsystem, the ARS carriage assembly, the ARS, and the refueling system(s) manager with each other.
