Device and method for folding an instrument set in a package

A device for folding an instrument tray into a packaging material comprising:

• a supporting surface for supporting the instrument tray during folding of the instrument tray into the packaging material;
• at least one first folding element which is movable between:
• a second position in which the first folding element forms a limit stop against the movement of the instrument tray with respect to the supporting surface;
• and
• a first position in which the instrument tray can be displaced;
• at least one second folding element which is movable between:
• a second position in which the second folding element forms a limit stop against the movement of the instrument tray with respect to the supporting surface;
• and
• a first position in which the instrument tray can be displaced;
• a control unit for controlling the movement of the first folding element between its respective first and second positions and the movement of the second folding element between its respective first and second positions;
• and
• at least one movable magnet provided below the supporting surface for moving the first folding element and/or the second folding element.
