Abstract
A power rake for attachment with a vehicle. The power rake includes a main frame. The power rake also includes an adjustment assembly operably engaged with the main frame, and the adjustment assembly is independently moveable relative to the main frame. The power rake also includes a rotor assembly operably engaged with the adjustment assembly, and the rotor assembly is independently moveable relative to the main frame by the adjustment assembly. The rotor assembly is adapted to be pivoted via the adjustment assembly relative to a vertical axis of the main frame. The adjustment assembly and the rotor assembly are selectively vertically adjustable relative to a vertical axis of the main frame. The rotor assembly is selectively rotatably adjustable relative to a vertical axis of the main frame.
Claims25
A power rake for attachment with a vehicle, the power rake comprising:
- a main frame having a front end, a rear end, and a longitudinal axis defined therebetween;
- an adjustment assembly operably engaged with the main frame, wherein the adjustment assembly is independently moveable relative to the main frame;
- a rotor assembly operably engaged with the adjustment assembly and having a longitudinal support beam and a vertical support beam, wherein the rotor assembly is independently moveable relative to the main frame by the adjustment assembly;
- and
- a pivot assembly of the adjustment assembly operably engaged with the rotor assembly and operable to pivot the rotor assembly about the longitudinal axis of the main frame;
- the pivot assembly comprises:
- an upper linkage assembly having an upper frame operably engaged with the main frame and a mounting plate slideably engaged with the upper frame and fixedly engaged with the vertical support beam;
- and
- a lower linkage assembly pivotably engaged with the longitudinal support beam.
A method of reshaping uneven terrain, the method comprising steps of:
- operably engaging a power rake with a vehicle;
- adjusting a rotor assembly of the power rake relative to a main frame of the power rake via pivot assembly of an adjustment assembly, the pivot assembly comprises:
- an upper linkage assembly having an upper frame operably engaged with the main frame and a mounting plate slideably engaged with the upper frame and fixedly engaged with a vertical support beam of the rotor assembly;
- and
- a lower linkage assembly pivotably engaged with a longitudinal support beam of the rotor assembly;
- selecting a direction of rotation of a rotor of the rotor assembly;
- selecting a speed of rotation for the rotor of the rotor assembly;
- rotating the rotor in the selected direction of rotation and at the selected speed of rotation with a motor;
- contacting the uneven terrain with the rotating rotor;
- traversing over the uneven terrain;
- and
- reshaping the uneven terrain with the rotating rotor.
