Abstract
Voltage application device includes voltage application circuit. Voltage application circuit causes discharge electrode to generate a discharge by applying an application voltage to load that includes discharge electrode holding liquid. Voltage application circuit periodically changes a magnitude of the application voltage to generate a discharge intermittently. Voltage application circuit applies a maintaining voltage to load for suppressing contraction of liquid in addition to the application voltage during an intermittent period from a discharge to a next discharge.

A voltage application device comprising
- a voltage application circuit that causes a discharge electrode to generate a discharge by applying an application voltage to a load including the discharge electrode for holding a liquid, wherein:
- the voltage application circuit repeatedly changes a magnitude of the application voltage to intermittently generate the discharge with a discharge cycle,
- within one discharge cycle in which the application voltage has a highest value at a first time point t1 and a lowest value at a third time point t3, the voltage application circuit decreases the application voltage from the highest value to the lowest value,
- a magnitude of the application voltage at a second time point t2 is smaller than the highest value and more than or equal to ⅔ of the highest value, where the second time point t2 is a time point after an elapse of a time of 1/10 of the one discharge cycle from the first time point t1, and
- after the one discharge cycle ends, the magnitude of the application voltage returns to the highest value from the third time point t3, where a time period between the first time point t1 and the third time point t3 is smaller than the one discharge cycle.
A discharge device comprising:
