Abstract
An apparatus and method for providing therapeutic bubbling massage of a person's body. The apparatus may be adapted to float on, for example, a pond, lake or pool. The apparatus may be formed of an inflatable bladder having an interior volume that is pressurized with air. The weight of a user disposed on the upper surfaces of the inflatable bladder may force a portion of the bladder below the surface of the fluid in which the apparatus is floating, such that bubbles are formed when the pressurized gas is allowed to escape the bladder through openings impacting the body of the user. The gas may be heated or may be infused with an aroma.
Claims8
A system for providing bubble massage to the epidermis of a user, comprising:
- a floating bubble massage apparatus, comprising an inflatable bladder;
- wherein said inflatable bladder is in pneumatic communication with an air pump for pressurizing an interior volume of said inflatable bladder, said inflatable bladder comprising a plurality of openings for producing air bubbles when said interior volume of said inflatable bladder is pressurized by said air pump and submerged in a liquid;
- and
- wherein said inflatable bladder comprises voids having sealed peripheries, wherein said bubbles are able to escape from said openings and rise through said voids to impact the portion of epidermis of the user;
- wherein said plurality of openings are disposed in a lower-most surface of the inflatable bladder such that, when the inflatable bladder is at least partially submerged in a body of water by the weight of a user disposed on the inflatable bladder, bubbles are produced by air from the interior volume escaping said plurality of openings in the lower-most surface, creating a therapeutic effect on a user when the bubbles rise through the water and around the bladder to impact a portion of the epidermis of the user.
