Detecting objects submerged in a body of water or at least partly buried in a bed of the body of water

A system for detecting objects that are submerged in a body of water or at least partly buried in a bed of the body of water, the system comprising:

• a remotely operated towed vehicle, ROTV, the ROTV comprising at least one control flap operable to control a sub-surface depth of the ROTV when the ROTV is towed in the body of water;
• a support structure mounted to the ROTV;
• a plurality of acoustic transducers;
• and
• at least one magnetic sensor,
• wherein the support structure comprises:
• a first carrier wing to which the plurality of acoustic transducers are mounted, and the support structure further comprises a first frame connecting the ROTV to the first carrier wing, the first frame formed of non-ferrous and marine grade material, and
• a second carrier wing, and a second frame to which the second carrier wing is mounted, and the at least one magnetic sensor is mounted to the second carrier wing, the second frame formed of non-ferrous and marine grade material, and
• wherein the first carrier wing is positioned between the ROTV and the second carrier wing, and
• wherein a space between the first carrier wing with the plurality of acoustic transducers and the second carrier wing with the at least one magnetic sensor provides reduced interference between the plurality of acoustic transducers and the at least one magnetic sensor.
