Abstract
The present disclosure relates generally to methods for the integration of electrochromic films onto a substrate, such as a glass window, and the systems/structures formed via such methods.
Claims14
A structure comprising at least one electrochromic film and at least one low-emissivity coating, comprising:
- a first panel having a first surface and a second surface;
- a second panel having a third surface and a fourth surface, the third surface of the second panel facing toward the second surface of the first panel;
- and
- a low-emissivity coating deposited on at least one of the second surface of the first panel and the third surface of the second panel;
- wherein:
- the first panel has a laminated structure comprising a plurality of layers including a first substrate, an electrochromic film deposited as a middle layer within the laminated structure, a first adhesive interlayer deposited between the electrochromic film and the first substrate, a second substrate, and a second adhesive interlayer deposited between the electrochromic film and the second substrate.

A method for forming a structure, the method comprising:
- forming a first panel having a first surface and a second surface opposite of the first surface;
- forming a second panel having a third surface and a fourth surface, the third surface of the second panel facing the second surface of the first panel;
- depositing a low-emissivity coating on at least one of the second surface of the first panel and the third surface of the second panel;
- wherein
- the first panel has a laminated structure comprising a plurality of layers including a first substrate, an electrochromic film deposited as a middle layer within the laminated structure, a first adhesive interlayer deposited between the electrochromic film and the first substrate, a second substrate, and a second adhesive interlayer deposited between the electrochromic film and the second substrate.
