Inkjet printing device for printing with ink to a recording medium in the form of a web

An inkjet printing device for printing with ink to a recording medium in a form of a web, comprising:

• a printing unit comprising a plurality of print bars that respectively have one or more print heads;
• a transfer printing sled configured to guide the recording medium, which transfer printing sled is configured to be moved into and out of a space below the printing unit of a printing module;
• and
• at least one cleaning element configured to clean at least one print head of the printing unit,
• wherein, in a print operation state, the transfer printing sled is arranged in the space and guides the recording medium during printing,
• wherein, in a maintenance operation state, the transfer printing sled is moved out of the space,
• wherein the recording medium is moved together with the transfer printing sled given a movement of said transfer printing sled from the print operation state into the maintenance operation state and from the maintenance operation state into the print operation state, and
• wherein, in the transport direction of the recording medium, the at least one cleaning element is arranged laterally next to the space in the print operation state and in the space in the maintenance operation state.
