Abstract
A notification system including an outlet and a notification center. The outlet is configured to output a signal indicative of the availability of the outlet. The notification control unit is configured to receive the signal, determine availability of the outlet based on the signal, and output information corresponding to the availability of the outlet to at least one selected from a group consisting of a computer, a smart phone, and a tablet.

A notification system comprising:
- a first outlet including a first housing and a first receptacle, the first outlet configured to output a first signal indicative of the availability of the first outlet;
- a second outlet including a second housing and a second receptacle, the second outlet configured to output a second signal indicative of the availability of the second outlet, wherein the second housing is connected to the first housing;
- and
- a notification control unit configured to
- receive the first signal and the second signal,
- determine availability of the first outlet based on the first signal and determine availability of the second outlet based on the second signal, and
- output information corresponding to the availability of the first outlet and the second outlet to at least one selected from a group consisting of a computer, a smart phone, and a tablet,
- wherein the information corresponding to the availability of the first outlet and the second outlet is included in a map accessed by the at least one selected from the group consisting of a computer, a smart phone, and a tablet.

A notification system comprising:
- a first outlet including a first housing, a first receptacle, and a first circuit interrupting device, the first outlet configured to output a first signal indicative of the availability of the first outlet and a second signal indicating a tripped condition of the outlet;
- a second outlet including a second housing and a second receptacle, the second outlet configured to output a third signal indicative of the availability of the second outlet, wherein the second housing is connected to the first housing;
- and
- a notification control unit configured to
- receive the first signal, second signal, and the third signal,
- determine availability of the first outlet based on the first signal, determine a status of the first outlet based on the second signal, and determine availability of the second outlet based on the third signal, and
- output information corresponding to the availability of the first outlet, status of the first outlet, and availability of the second outlet to an electronic device.

A method of providing an availability status of electrical receptacles, the method comprising:
- outputting, from a first outlet, a first signal indicative of the availability of the first outlet;
- outputting, from the first outlet, a second signal indicative of a tripped status of the outlet;
- outputting, from a second outlet, a third signal indicative of the availability of the second outlet;
- and
- displaying, via at least one selected from a group consisting of a computer, a smart phone, and a tablet, a map illustrating an availability status of the first outlet;
- and
- outputting a notification indicating the tripped status of the first outlet.
