Abstract
A heavy duty lock case is mounted on a door and includes a latch coupled with a door frame for retaining the door in a closed position. An anti-theft latch can be operated to engage with the door frame. The latch cooperates with an anti-pick member to avoid the latch from being picked to disengage from the door frame when the door is in the closed position. When normally operated, an inner operating device or an outer operating device can be operated to disengage the latch from the door frame while disengaging the anti-theft latch from the door frame, permitting easy, convenient opening of the door.
Claims13
A heavy duty lock case comprising:
- a case body;
- a latch movably coupled to the case body and movable between a latching position and an unlatching position;
- an anti-pick member pivotably mounted to the case body, wherein the anti-pick member is pivotable between an anti-pick position and a non-anti-pick position;
- an anti-pick latch movably coupled to the case body and operatively connected to the latch and the anti-pick member, wherein the anti-pick latch is movable between an extended position and a retracted position, wherein when the anti-pick latch is in the extended position, the anti-pick member remains in the non-anti-pick position, and wherein when the anti-pick latch is in the retracted position, the anti-pick member is pivotable to the anti-pick position;
- a connecting member pivotably connected to the case body and operatively connected to the latch and the anti-pick member, wherein pivotal movement of the connecting member actuates the latch to move between the latching position and the unlatching position and is capable of actuating the anti-pick member to move between the anti-pick position and the non-anti-pick position, wherein when the latch is in the unlatching position, the anti-pick member is in the non-anti-pick position, and the anti-pick latch is in the extended position or the retracted position, wherein when the latch is in the latching position and the anti-pick latch is in the extended position, the latch is movable from the latching position to the unlatching position without pivoting the connecting member, wherein when the latch is in the latching position, the anti-pick latch is in the retracted position, and the anti-pick member is in the anti-pick position, the latch is prevented from moving from the latching position to the unlatching position, and wherein with the latch in the latching position, the anti-pick member in the retracted position, and the anti-pick member in the anti-pick position, when the connecting member pivots, the connecting member actuates the anti-pick member to move to the non-anti-pick position and then actuates the latch to move to the latching position;
- an anti-theft latch movably coupled with the case body, wherein the anti-theft latch includes a plurality of latch heads, wherein the anti-theft latch is movable between an anti-theft position and a non-anti-theft position;
- an unlocking spring movably received in the case body and biasing the anti-theft latch towards the non-anti-theft position;
- a slidable locking block movably received in the case body, wherein when the slidable locking block engages with the anti-theft latch, the slidable locking block retains the anti-theft latch in one of the anti-theft position and the non-anti-theft position, and wherein when the slidable locking block disengages from the anti-theft latch, the anti-theft latch is permitted to move to the anti-theft position and the non-anti-theft position;
- and
- an unlocking member pivotably received in the case body, wherein the unlocking member includes an actuating end interlocked with the slidable locking block and an interlocking end, wherein the connecting member further includes an unlocking arm abutting the interlocking end, wherein with the anti-theft latch in the anti-theft position and with pivotal movement of the connecting member actuating the latch to move towards the unlatching position, the unlocking arm presses against and pivots the unlocking member, the slidable locking block disengages from the anti-theft latch, and the unlocking spring biases the anti-theft latch to move to the non-anti-theft position.
A heavy duty lock case comprising:
- a case body;
- a latch movably coupled to the case body and movable between a latching position and an unlatching position;
- a connecting member pivotably connected to the case body, wherein the connecting member includes an unlocking arm, wherein pivotal movement of the connecting member causes movement of the latch between the latching position and the unlatching position;
- an anti-theft latch movably coupled to the case body and movable between an anti-theft position and a non-anti-theft position;
- an unlocking spring disposed in the case body and biasing the anti-theft latch towards the non-anti-theft position;
- a slidable locking block movably coupled with the case body, wherein when the slidable locking block engages with the anti-theft latch, the slidable locking block retains the anti-theft latch in one of the anti-theft position and the non-anti-theft position, and wherein when the slidable locking block disengages from the anti-theft latch, the anti-theft latch is permitted to move from the anti-theft position to the non-anti-theft position or from the non-anti-theft position to the anti-theft position;
- and
- an unlocking member pivotably received in the case body, wherein the unlocking member includes an interlocking end adjacent to the unlocking arm and an actuating end, wherein when the connecting member pivots and the latch moves from the latching position to the unlatching position while the anti-theft latch is in the anti-theft position, the unlocking arm of the connecting member presses against the interlocking end to pivot the unlocking member, the actuating end of the unlocking member actuates the slidable locking block to disengage from the anti-theft latch, the unlocking spring biases the anti-theft latch to move from the anti-theft position to the non-anti-theft position, and wherein when the connecting member pivots and the latch moves from the latching position to the unlatching position, the slidable locking block displaces to engage with anti-theft latch, thereby retaining the anti-theft latch in the non-anti-theft position.
