Detection probe for internal amplification control and kit including same

A kit comprising:

• an internal nucleic acid control template having a sequence selected from the group of
• (i) SEQ ID NO. 1, or a sequence that differs by no more than 15% from SEQ ID NO. 1, and
• (ii) a reverse complement of SEQ ID NO. 1, or a sequence that differs from the reverse complement of SEQ ID NO. 1 by no more than 15%;
• a set of primers for amplifying the internal nucleic acid control template, said set of primers having
• a nucleotide sequence according to SEQ ID NO. 2 or a nucleotide sequence having at least the first fifteen 3′ nucleotides in common with the sequence according to SEQ ID NO. 2, and
• a nucleotide sequence according to SEQ ID NO. 3 or a nucleotide sequence having at least the first fifteen 3′ nucleotides in common with the sequence according to SEQ ID NO. 3;
• and
• an oligonucleotide probe selected from the group consisting of:
• SEQ ID NO. 4;
• a reverse complement of SEQ ID NO. 4;
• an oligonucleotide that shares 95% sequence identity with SEQ ID NO. 4;
• and
• an oligonucleotide that shares 95% sequence identity with a reverse complement of SEQ ID NO. 4.
