Abstract
An injection stretch blow-molded (ISBM) container prepared by way of injection molding a tubular preform followed by reheating and concurrently stretching and blow-molding the heated preform into the container. The container and preform comprise from 70 wt. % to 97.5 wt. % of a semi-crystalline polyolefin composition comprising one or polymers selected from polyethylene polymers and polypropylene polymers and from 2.5 wt. % to 30 wt. % of an alicyclic polyolefin composition, wherein the alicyclic polyolefin composition has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of from 60° to 145° C.
Claims11
An injection stretch blow-molded (ISBM) container prepared by way of injection molding a tubular preform followed by reheating and concurrently stretching and blow-molding the heated preform into the container, the container and preform comprising from 70 wt. % to 85 wt. % of a semi-crystalline polyolefin composition comprising polymers selected from polyethylene polymers and polypropylene polymers and from 17% to 22.5 wt. % of an alicyclic polyolefin composition, wherein the alicyclic polyolefin composition has a glass transition temperature, Tg, of from 60° to 145° C. and wherein the ISBM container is characterized by an Axial Stretch Ratio of from 1.75:1 to 3.25:1 with respect to the preform as well as a Blow-Up Ratio of from 4.0:1 to 9.0:1 with respect to the preform.
