Receptacle assemblies and locking systems for such assemblies

A locking system for a drawer slidably mounted to a cabinet, the locking system including:

• a powered locking mechanism securable to a rear portion of the cabinet and operable to releasably secure a rear portion of the drawer to the rear portion of the cabinet in a locked position to constrain sliding movement of the drawer relative to the cabinet;
• an actuator securable to the drawer or the cabinet, the actuator operable to cause the locking mechanism to release the drawer to allow sliding movement relative to the cabinet;
• a first electrical contact electrically connected to the actuator, the first contact being mountable to the drawer;
• and
• a second electrical contact electrically connected to the locking mechanism, the second contact being mountable to the cabinet to be aligned and couple with the first electrical contact when the drawer is in the locked position to supply power to the actuator and arm the locking system, whereby moving the drawer out of the locked position decouples the contacts to prevent power being drawn by the locking system when the drawer is out of the locked position.
