Method for configuring transmit port of downlink reference signal and communication apparatus

A communication apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing program instructions for execution by the at least one processor to:
• receive, by using a transceiver, first indication information from a network device, wherein the first indication information indicates configurations corresponding to a plurality of transmit ports, wherein each of the plurality of transmit ports is associated with one piece of delay information, wherein transmit ports associated with same delay information correspond to a same configuration, wherein at least two transmit ports associated with different delay information correspond to different configurations based on a correlation between the delay information of the transmit ports and the configurations indicated by the first indication information, and wherein each of the configurations indicated by the first indication information comprises at least one of the following:
• a precoding resource bundling granularity, a subband size, or a pilot density;
• receive, by using the transceiver and based on the configurations indicated by the first indication information, downlink reference signals sent by the plurality of transmit ports;
• and
• perform channel estimation.

A communication apparatus, comprising:

• at least one processor;
• and
• one or more memories coupled to the at least one processor and storing program instructions for execution by the at least one processor to:
• generate first indication information, wherein the first indication information indicates configurations corresponding to a plurality of transmit ports, wherein each of the plurality of transmit ports is associated with one piece of delay information, wherein transmit ports associated with same delay information correspond to a same configuration, wherein at least two transmit ports associated with different delay information correspond to different configurations based on a correlation between the delay information of the transmit ports and the configurations indicated by the first indication information, and wherein each of the configurations indicated by the first indication information comprises at least one of the following:
• a precoding resource bundling granularity, a subband size, or a pilot density;
• and
• send, by using a transceiver, the first indication information to a terminal device.
