Abstract
A method and system to control a rotor system includes automatically changing a rotor speed of the rotor system of the tiltrotor aircraft while moving the rotor system from a first position and a first rotor speed to a second position and a second rotor speed over a time period in accordance with an acceleration-rate profile that varies over the time period using a controller communicably coupled to the rotor system of the tiltrotor aircraft.

A method of controlling a rotor assembly of a tiltrotor aircraft comprising:
- automatically changing a rotor speed of the rotor assembly of the tiltrotor aircraft while moving the rotor assembly or a pylon thereof from a first rotor position and a first rotor speed to a second rotor position and a second rotor speed over a time period in accordance with an acceleration-rate profile that varies over the time period using a controller communicably coupled to the rotor assembly of the tiltrotor aircraft.
An apparatus for controlling a rotor assembly of a tiltrotor aircraft, comprising:
- a controller operably coupled to the rotor assembly and operably configured to automatically change a rotor speed of the rotor assembly of the tiltrotor aircraft while moving the rotor assembly or the pylon thereof from a first rotor position and a first rotor speed to a second rotor position and a second rotor speed over a time period in accordance with an acceleration-rate profile that varies over the time period.
A tiltrotor aircraft, comprising:
- a fuselage;
- one or more engines coupled to the fuselage or a wing coupled to the fuselage;
- a rotor assembly coupled to the one or more engines;
- and
- a controller operably coupled to the rotor assembly and operably configured to automatically change a rotor speed of the rotor assembly of the tiltrotor aircraft while moving the rotor assembly or a pylon thereof from a first rotor position and a first rotor speed to a second rotor position and a second rotor speed over a time period in accordance with an acceleration-rate profile that varies over the time period.
