Abstract
The invention is based on an impactor-separator element (10) for separating fluid droplets (12) from a gas stream, comprising at least one separator means (14a, 14b) having a raw side and a clean side, said separator means (14a, 14b) being designed as a mesh or grid element and being fixed in a holder (16), wherein the holder (16) is designed to position the separator means (14a, 14b) with a shallow angle of attack in the gas stream. It is proposed to provide at least one element (36, 46) arranged in the gas flow upstream of the separation means (14a) for controlling the gas flow impinging on the separation means.
Claims16
An impactor-separator element (10) for separating fluid droplets (12) from a gas stream, comprising:
- at least one separator means (14a) having a raw side and a clean side, said separator means (14a) being designed as a mesh or grid element and being fixed in a holder (16), wherein the holder (16) positions the separator means (14a) in the gas stream so that the separator means (14a) is positioned along a plane at an angle between 3 and 40 degrees relative to a direction of inflow of the gas stream at a front end of the separator means;
- and, a variable element (46) for varying a flow cross-section of the gas flow disposed in the gas stream upstream of the separation means (14a) and controlling the gas stream impinging on the separation means (14a).
