Abstract
A lens antenna, a radio unit and a base station are disclosed. According to an embodiment, the lens antenna comprises an antenna array and a lens unit having a first focal point at a first side of the lens unit and a second focal point at a second side of the lens unit opposite to the first side. The lens unit is able to cause at least part of beams emitted from the antenna array at the first side the lens unit to be converged at the second side of the lens unit.
Claims12
A lens antenna comprising:
- an antenna array;
- and
- a lens unit having a first focal point at a first side of the lens unit and a second focal point at a second side of the lens unit opposite the first side, wherein the lens unit is arranged to cause at least a part of the beams emitted from the antenna array at the first side of the lens unit to converge at the second side of the lens unit, the antenna array is arranged to emit, at the first focal point, a main lobe beam and a plurality of side lobe beams that are divergent from the main lobe beam;
- and
- the lens unit is arranged to converge the main lobe beam and the plurality of side lobe beams to the second focal point.
