Printing apparatus, method of controlling printing apparatus, and storage medium

A method of controlling a printing apparatus having a print head in which a plurality of nozzles from which to eject a printing agent are arrayed along a first direction, the method comprising:

• detecting an edge region and a non-edge region of an object in image data;
• and
• adjusting an application amount of the printing agent for a unit region based on whether the unit region is the edge region or the non-edge region, wherein
• the printing apparatus is capable of performing printing in a first printing mode or a second printing mode,
• in the first printing mode, an input resolution of the image data is lower than a printing resolution of the print head,
• in the second printing mode, the input resolution of the image data is higher than or equal to the printing resolution of the print head, and
• the adjusting includes making the application amount for the edge region in the second printing mode smaller than the application amount for the non-edge region and larger than the application amount for the edge region in the first printing mode.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute a method of controlling a printing apparatus having a print head in which a plurality of nozzles from which to eject a printing agent are arrayed along a first direction, the method comprising:

• detecting an edge region and a non-edge region of an object in image data;
• and
• adjusting an application amount of the printing agent for a unit region based on whether the unit region is the edge region or the non-edge region, wherein
• the printing apparatus is capable of performing printing in a first printing mode or a second printing mode,
• in the first printing mode, an input resolution of the image data is lower than a printing resolution of the print head,
• in the second printing mode, the input resolution of the image data is higher than or equal to the printing resolution of the print head, and
• the adjusting includes making the application amount for the edge region in the second printing mode smaller than the application amount for the non-edge region and larger than the application amount for the edge region in the first printing mode.
