Abstract
An anastomotic coupler is provided. A ring can include a plurality of receiving portions. A fixation device includes a cartridge. The cartridge includes a plurality of fasteners. The ring is aligned with the cartridge such that the receiving portions are aligned with the fasteners. Upon actuation of the fixation device, the fasteners puncture the tubular structure and are received by the receiving portions such that the tubular structure is coupled with the ring.
Claims14
An anastomotic coupler comprising:
- a ring;
- a cartridge including a plurality of fasteners,
- wherein the ring is aligned with the cartridge in that the cartridge is disposed within a lumen of a tubular structure and the ring is positioned external of the tubular structure,
- wherein the plurality of fasteners are operable to puncture the tubular structure and be received by the ring such that the tubular structure is coupled with the ring,
- wherein the ring is operable to be coupled with a second tubular structure such that a lumen of the second tubular structure is in fluid communication with the lumen of the tubular structure via a hole formed in a wall of the tubular structure.

A system comprising:
- a side ring forming an aperture, the side ring operable to be coupled with a first tubular structure such that the aperture of the side ring is aligned with a hole formed in a wall of the first tubular structure;
- an end ring forming an aperture, the end ring operable to be coupled with a second tubular structure such that the aperture of the end ring is in line with a lumen of the second tubular structure,
- wherein the side ring is operable to be coupled with the end ring such that the lumen of the second tubular structure is in fluid communication with a lumen of the first tubular structure via the hole formed in the wall of the first tubular structure;
- and
- a cartridge including a plurality of fasteners,
- wherein the side ring is aligned with the cartridge in that the cartridge is disposed within the lumen of the first tubular structure and the side ring is positioned external of the first tubular structure, wherein the plurality of fasteners are operable to puncture the first tubular structure and be received by the side ring such that the first tubular structure is coupled with the side ring.
