Abstract
Software allows images captured during product development on a mobile device (e.g., smartphone or other client device) to be uploaded to a design management system from the mobile device. Mark-up annotations and comments can be added to the images at the mobile device. Assignment of tasks related to the images can be made from the mobile device.
Claims25
A method comprising:
- allowing a mobile application, executing on at least one processor of a first mobile device comprising a camera and a touch screen, access a server of a design management system via a wireless network;
- registering a first product to be managed by the design management system;
- selecting a first picture of a first product prototype of the first product stored on the first mobile device and associating the first picture with the first product;
- using the mobile application, receiving a first indication from a first user via the touch screen of the first mobile device comprising a first product feature of the first product prototype of the first product;
- after the first indication, allowing the first user to create a first task and assigning the first task to a second user, wherein the first task is associated with the first product feature and a first modification to be made to the first product feature;
- transmitting the first task via the wireless network to a server and storing the first task;
- and
- indicating to the second user the storing of the first task including the first picture.
An article of manufacture comprising a non-transitory computer accessible storage medium having stored thereupon a sequence of instructions which, when executed by at least one processor or at least one processor core executing one or more threads, causes the at least one processor or the at least one processor core to perform a set of acts, the set of acts comprising:
- allowing a mobile application, executing on at least one processor of a first mobile device comprising a camera and a touch screen, access a server of a design management system via a wireless network;
- registering a first product to be managed by the design management system;
- selecting a first picture of a first product prototype of the first product stored on the first mobile device and associating the first picture with the first product;
- using the mobile application, receiving a first indication from a first user via the touch screen of the first mobile device comprising a first product feature of the first product prototype of the first product;
- after the first indication, allowing the first user to create a first task and assigning the first task to a second user, wherein the first task is associated with the first product feature and a first modification to be made to the first product feature;
- transmitting the first task via the wireless network to a server and storing the first task;
- and
- indicating to the second user the storing of the first task including the first picture.
A system, comprising:
- a microprocessor;
- memory storing thereupon a sequence of instructions which, when executed by the microprocessor, causes the microprocessor to perform a set of acts, the set of acts comprising:
- allowing a mobile application, executing on at least one processor of a first mobile device comprising a camera and a touch screen, access a server of a design management system via a wireless network;
- registering a first product to be managed by the design management system;
- selecting a first picture of a first product prototype of the first product stored on the first mobile device and associating the first picture with the first product;
- using the mobile application, receiving a first indication from a first user via the touch screen of the first mobile device comprising a first product feature of the first product prototype of the first product;
- after the first indication, allowing the first user to create a first task and assigning the first task to a second user, wherein the first task is associated with the first product feature and a first modification to be made to the first product feature;
- transmitting the first task via the wireless network to a server and storing the first task;
- and
- indicating to the second user the storing of the first task including the first picture.
