Systems, methods, devices and arrangements for unified messaging

A method to be carried out by a communications platform, including a set of one or more servers, the method comprising:

• providing data communications services, over at least one of a plurality of communication networks, on behalf of a plurality of user-operable communication devices that are enabled to communicate audio and text-type user information and the plurality of user-operable communication devices including a certain user communication device (“user device”) via a user interface included as part of the user device;
• routing incoming data communications on behalf of the plurality of user-operable communication devices;
• participating in establishing electronic meetings, involving different types of data communications from among text messages, instant messaging audio calls and video calls, between the user device and different social networks associated with the user device;
• and
• sending to the user device an update message concerning communications involving at least one of the electronic meetings and the user device.

A method to be carried out by a communications platform, the method comprising:

• using a set of one or more servers configured to operate as at least one call center providing data communications services, over at least one of a plurality of communication networks and on behalf of at least one group of user-operable communication devices, wherein each of the user-operable communication devices is enabled to communicate audio and text-type user information and the user-operable communication devices including a certain user communication device (“user device”) via a user interface included as part of the user device;
• routing incoming data communications, via the at least one call center, on behalf of the user-operable communication devices;
• participating in establishing electronic meetings between the user device and different social networks associated with the user device, the electronic meetings involving different types of data communications from among text messages, instant messaging audio calls, and video calls;
• and
• sending to the user device an update message concerning status of communications between at least one of the electronic meetings and the user device.
