Abstract
A method for processing a three-dimensional holographic image includes obtaining depth images from depth data of a three-dimensional object, dividing each of the depth images into a predetermined number of sub-images, obtaining interference patterns of computer-generated hologram (CGH) patches corresponding to each of the sub-images by performing a Fourier transform to calculate an interference pattern in a CGH plane for object data included in each of the sub-images, and generating a CGH for the three-dimensional object using the obtained interference patterns of the CGH patches.
Claims19
A method of processing a three-dimensional holographic image, the method comprising:
- obtaining a plurality of depth images for depth data of a three-dimensional object;
- dividing each depth image from among the plurality of depth images into a predetermined number of sub-images to be processed by respective processing units from among a plurality of processing units;
- determining, with respect to each depth image, a sub-image from among the predetermined number of sub-images in which object data is present, as a region of interest (ROI) sub-image;
- obtaining a plurality of interference patterns in a computer-generated hologram (CGH) plane by performing a Fourier transform on the ROI sub-image and refraining from performing the Fourier transform on remaining sub-images from among the predetermined number of sub-images;
- and
- generating a CGH of the three-dimensional object using the obtained plurality of interference patterns,
- wherein the CGH of the three-dimensional object is generated based on the sub-image corresponding to the ROI, without being based on another sub-image from among the predetermined number of sub-images that does not correspond to the ROI.
An apparatus for processing a three-dimensional holographic image, the apparatus comprising:
- a memory in which at least one program is stored;
- and
- a processor configured to process the three-dimensional holographic image by executing the at least one program,
- wherein the processor is further configured to:
- obtain a plurality of depth images for depth data of a three-dimensional object;
- divide each depth image from among the plurality of depth images into a predetermined number of sub-images to be processed by respective processing units from among a plurality of processing units;
- determine, with respect to each depth image, a sub-image from among the predetermined number of sub-images in which object data is present, as a region of interest (ROI) sub-image;
- obtain a plurality of interference patterns in a computer-generated hologram (CGH) plane by performing a Fourier transform on the ROI sub-image and refraining from performing the Fourier transform on remaining sub-images from among the predetermined number of sub-images;
- and
- generate a CGH of the three-dimensional object using the obtained plurality of interference patterns,
- wherein the CGH of the three-dimensional object is generated based on the sub-image corresponding to the ROI, without being based on another sub-image from among the predetermined number of sub-images that does not correspond to the ROI.
