The present invention relates to cleaning compositions comprising polypeptides having peptidoglycan degradation activity, as well as use of the cleaning compositions for cleaning of an item such as a textile or a surface.

A method of cleaning a textile, comprising washing the textile in a solution comprising a peptidoglycan degradation enzyme belonging to EC 3.5.1.28, EC 4.2.2.n1 or EC 4.2.2.n2 having peptidoglycan lyase activity or N-acetylmuramyl-L-alanine amidase activity, and 5 to 60 wt. % of at least one surfactant.
