Hydration mediums for hydrating hydrophilic coatings of urinary catheters and urinary catheter products containing such hydration mediums. Methods for making urinary catheter products having hydration mediums.
Claims21
A urinary catheter product, comprising:
- a package containing:
- a urinary catheter having a hydrophilic coating thereon;
- and
- a hydration medium for hydrating a hydrophilic coating, the hydration medium comprising (i) a hydration liquid for hydrating the hydrophilic coating, (ii) a surfactant, (iii) a viscosity increasing agent and (iv) a stabilizer;
- and
- wherein the hydration medium is foamed.

A method of making a urinary catheter product, comprising:
- placing a urinary catheter having a hydrophilic coating thereon witching a package;
- foaming a hydration medium with a gas;
- and
- placing the hydration medium within the package, the hydration medium comprising (i) a hydration liquid for hydrating the hydrophilic coating, (ii) a surfactant, (iii) a viscosity increasing agent and (iv) a stabilizer.
